REI Expo 2026: How Team GREW Solar Brought Rajasthan’s Solar Manufacturing Strength to Greater Noida

Every year, India’s clean energy industry gathers in Greater Noida to see where the market is heading, and the 2026 edition of Renewable Energy India Expo was no exception. From 22 to 24 October, manufacturers, developers, EPC companies and policymakers filled the halls of India Expo Mart. Team GREW Solar was among them, bringing the experience of the people who build its modules at Dudu, Rajasthan.

For a manufacturer founded only four years ago, three days at India’s largest clean energy exhibition were as much a test as a showcase.

Why REI Matters

REI Expo, organised by Informa Markets, describes itself as Asia’s largest clean energy exhibition. This year’s 19th edition spanned 14 halls covering solar, bio energy, energy storage, green hydrogen and e-mobility, with more than 55,000 professionals and over 1,000 brands expected.

For a module manufacturer, the numbers matter less than who is in the room. Developers arrive with shortlists and compare datasheets booth by booth. EPC contractors want to know whether a supplier can hold delivery schedules through a full project cycle. Distributors look for a brand whose quality still holds years after installation. At REI, all of them are evaluating at once, and GREW Solar went to Greater Noida to be evaluated.

Conversations at Hall 10, Booth B305

From the first morning, visitors to the booth came for detailed conversations, not a passing look at the modules on display.

Each group arrived with different questions. Developers wanted to understand module behaviour in high-temperature conditions. EPC firms talked through delivery timelines, while channel partners compared warranty terms in detail. A datasheet answers only part of this. With members of the production team at the booth, the rest could be answered from what happens on the manufacturing line every day.

The Capacity Behind the Booth

GREW Solar’s module plant at Dudu, in Rajasthan’s Jaipur district, runs 6.5 GW of capacity today and is being expanded to 11 GW. Its cell manufacturing facility at Narmadapuram in Madhya Pradesh is operational and scaling from 3.5 GW to 8 GW in 2026.

That cell capacity is central to how GREW Solar has grown. Backward integration was part of the plan from its founding in 2022, built on the Chiripal Group’s five decades of manufacturing experience. GREW Solar is also among the manufacturers allocated support under the government’s PLI scheme for fully integrated solar manufacturing. For customers, the benefit is practical. A manufacturer that makes its own cells has far more control over quality and supply timelines than one relying on imports.

The Case for N-Type TOPCon

For the utility-scale and large commercial buyers at REI, the G12R series led the conversation. It is built on N-type TOPCon cell technology, which uses a thin tunnel oxide layer and passivated contacts to reduce recombination losses at the cell surface. More of the light that reaches the cell becomes usable power. The G12R delivers peak output of up to 635 Wp and module efficiency of up to 23.51%.

Efficiency figures mean little if they don’t hold over the life of a project, so testing runs at more than one stage. Every module undergoes 100% string-level EL testing and three stages of module EL testing. The modules are PID resistant and carry positive power tolerance, and an in-house laboratory runs IEC tests close to the production line, so problems are caught where they start. The G12R is backed by a 15-year product warranty and a 30-year linear performance warranty.

Beyond the Module

Some customers need more than modules. GREW Renewables, the group’s EPC division, takes projects from design through execution across ground-mount, floating and rooftop solar, and stays on for asset management after commissioning. For a developer, that means one partner from procurement to operation, with fewer handovers and clear accountability at every stage.

How modules are made matters too, and lenders and corporate offtakers increasingly ask about it. Module production at the Jaipur facility runs on green energy. More than 2,500 trees have been planted on site, and 60 KLD of wastewater is treated for reuse in landscaping. None of this appears on a datasheet, but it belongs in any serious evaluation of a supplier.

Takeaways From REI 2026

India’s domestic manufacturing capacity is growing, and buyers have more choice than ever. That raises the standard for every manufacturer. The question heard most often across three days was simple: who can deliver consistent quality across gigawatts, year after year, and stand behind it for three decades?

GREW Solar was built to answer that question. The conversations in Greater Noida were a beginning, and their real measure will be the projects they lead to in the months ahead. For anyone who missed Booth B305, Team GREW Solar can be reached at info@thegrewsolar.com
